What is the best home laser hair removal machine to buy?
Public Comments
- the best Ive found is the good old razor
- CAN you laser yourself? I would've thought that only qualified people can use such machines.
- I've just bought the rio laser and have been using it every other day for the last week. So far, it does seem to be working and there seem to be far fewer hairs every day. However, I believe it is too early to offer a real recommendation as will have to wait to see if hairs grow back.
I thought it was quite expensive but if it works it will be a real saving, otherwise it will be back to the salon, where in comparison this cost will only add a small amount to total.
I've added links to a couple of positive and negative reviews plus the rio site. I know in the UK it is available for £89.99 at Argos.
Good luck

- The Rio laser hair removal kit is definitely worth looking at. It costs £89.99 with free delivery and uses a safe 808nm diverging diode based laser system. Its manufactured by a U.K company and has been approved for sale in the U.K.
There are cheaper foreign laser machines you can buy but I haven't seen any good reviews about them so would tend to stick with a reputable company like Dizac Group, which manufactures the Rio
Laser hair removal works best on fair skinned people with dark hair as the laser has to be able to differentiate between the hair and your skin.
The main difference between the Rio and a salon laser machine is that the Rio can only treat one hair at a time whereas a salon laser can treat an area about 1cm squared.
I would also recommend using a good hair minimiser like Kalo as it makes hair regrowth softer and finer, making it easier to remove.
- Laser hair removal is “permanent” hair removal method but is expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged.
